Bivy comes from “bivouac”, a word for a temporary camp. Over the years, “bivy” has come to mean a small tent or shelter, and we love the idea of offering that to RVers, travelers, and all-around adventurers passing through our area — the ones that are excited to get off the beaten path and away from the major interstates.
From Bivy Brown RV Park, you’ll have easy access to hiking, fly-fishing, rafting, golfing, 4-wheeling/ATVing, hunting, mountaineering, skiing, snow machining, soaking in hot springs, and more! Or, our location is just as good for taking a little time to not do much at all: focus on relaxing in a beautiful part of the country with wide-open views of mountains and golden plains, a sky full of stars at night, and some of the freshest air in the U.S.
You’ll have access to our tree-lined greenspace and picnic area, while still being a stone’s throw away from a delicious smash burger, great cocktails and local beers, our local coffee shop, and a convenience store.
If you want to keep to yourself, by all means! (As Wyomingites, we understand that at a deep level😉)
Or if you’re feeling a little more social, let our small community welcome you with open arms, share some of our favorite spots, and hear about your travels over a beer.
Linda and Shawn Brown grew up one town over in Saratoga, WY. Spending all of their lives within a few hours of this spot, they’ve always wanted to come back to the valley for their retirement years.
A few years ago, they bought a dilapidated cabin on an overgrown plot of land in downtown Riverside. For the last two years, they have put in the work to bring the space back to life.
Shawn is a handyman type, and a doer that loves to get in and fix things. He built the cabin into what it is (with support from the local community), and he’s the kind of guy that always has a list of projects. The most recent project of building a chicken coop (for 10-20 chickens, and growing) will likely enable him to provide fresh eggs to the whole town.
Linda is passionate about (and extremely gifted at) hospitality and creating beautiful, welcoming spaces for guests. She loves helping Shawn with the planning, labor, and fine details of projects.
